A Peek Into My Classroom

The school I teach at isn't the nicest. It's old. Not cute old, just old-old. But my coworkers and I try to make it nicer, and this summer especially, I tried to add some homey, cozy touches for the kiddos. Here are some of the bits and pieces that make me really happy.

Cute! The little succulent is my favorite :)

I have this print I accidentally ordered 2 of awhile back for my "someday" classroom - the extra is yours if you'd like it!

Good luck with the rest of your first week of school! I can't wait to be finished with school as a student and begin as a teacher someday.

I like colored chalk :)

I will have to take some of my classroom. We have a new school, but we have three teachers in one room so that kind of makes things look ...cluttered.

Can I be in your class??? I promise I'll be good. :)

Oh my goodness...just found your blog through Freckles in April and LOVE it. I really like this post with all the pictures from your classroom. Darling idea to give a glimpse into your everyday life. I think I might have to do that. xoxo

knowing you, i'm sure your room is a fantastic atmosphere for learning. your succulent and colored chalk made me really happy just looking at them. :) i taught 7th & 8th grade for 6 months in a teeny school in my past career. it was a lot of fun and the kids were all so sweet. this post made me sort of miss that life for a moment. hooray for teachers everywhere!

Your classroom is so cute! Your students are so lucky to have you.

I must say I'm jealous you're teaching junior high English. I still haven't been able to find a job. Maybe next year?

My dad was a teacher, and I remember tagging along with him to the school supply store before each school year. He actually spent the school's money on supplies and decorations for the classroom. As a stark contrast, I get notes from teachers at my etsy shop telling me that they are trying to make their own dollars stretch because they have to spend their own money...and not just on decorating, but on supplies as well! One teacher told me that she had to ask parents to donate paper last year! So very sad.
Sorry to leave such a long comment, I just had to share this with you because I knew you'd get it.
I love your special touches. Your students are very lucky to have you as their teacher!
